2019 SA Senior Open - Plettenberg Bay

The 2019 SA Senior Open will again be hosted by the Plettenberg Bay Country Club. Last year’s winner, Mark McNulty, became the first player to successfully defend the SA Senior Open title last year (2018),  will he be able to do it again this year and make it a hatrick?

The event details are as follows:

Dates:  22-25 October 2019 Venue: Plettenberg Bay Country Club Format: 2-day Pro-Ams and 2 days Professionals only Prize fund is: R500,000.00

The 2019 SA Senior Open is open to a field of 72 participants, consisting of 54 exempt players, 18 qualifiers/leading Amateurs. The Mayoral Pro-Am will take place on the 22nd October, which is also the first round of the championship.
The second of the two Pro-Ams takes place on 23rd October & is always great fun for the amateurs to play alongside some of the “Legends” of this game.

About the Sunshine Senior Tour

The Sunshine Senior Tour is the official Golf Tour for Professional golfers over the age of 50 years in South Africa & surrounding territories, and is affiliated to the Sunshine Tour by way of agreement between the parties.

The association is a registered Section 21 company & is responsible for all Senior Professional golf in South Africa & neighbouring countries.

The Board of Directors are responsible for the good governance of the tour. The Player’s Committee reports to the Board and is the conduit to all the professionals.
