Since its opening in April 2007, Casa Toscana has established itself as the KZN South Coast’s venue of choice for Italian dining with a Tuscan flair. The great food on offer, coupled with the restaurant’s unbeatable location in a charming stone villa overlooking the Mpenjati lagoon, attracts a hungry following – both local and international.
The name ‘Casa Toscana’, Italian for ‘Tuscan home’, embodies the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant which is owned by husband and wife team Mario and Marisa Toniolo. Having moved to South Africa from Tuscany in the early 1990s, Mario and Marisa decided to combine their love for their new home with their passion for Italy’s time-honored cuisine. Casa Toscana recreates an authentic Tuscan dining experience on KZN’s South Coast.
In 2010 food enthusiastic Andrea Boffi relocated from Italy and joined Casa Toscana. Andrea`s creativity in the kitchen and charming personality have helped Casa Toscana reach even greater heights.
Weddings and Catering
Casa Toscana is an ideal venue for those who seek a relaxed dining experience, with an emphasis on quality food, wine, and good company. The restaurant’s own idyllic location makes it perfect for weddings and other special events, and Casa Toscana chefs now also cater for both private and corporate functions at a variety of venues in the area.
Casa Toscana is open out of season from Wednesday to Sunday for lunch ( 12.00 - 16.00 Kitchen closes at 14.00) from Wednesday to Saturday for dinner (18.00 - 22.30 kitchen closes at 21.00) Due to limited space, patrons are encouraged to reserve a table ahead of time to avoid disappointment. In season, the restaurant will be open also on Tuesdays.
