Kunjani Wines Restaurant
The menus at Kunjani is curated under the watchful eye of Head Chef Lamek Mnisi, who has been at the helm of the Kunjani kitchen since it’s opening in November 2017. Not only does he look for high quality ingredients and innovative ideas when creating this season’s menu, but he continually renews the menus so that regular patrons always find a new dish that will surprise them when visiting Kunjani.
In line with his philosophy to only source seasonal ingredients and the very best fresh produce, Lamek has streamlined the menus to reflect his passion for locally sourced, fresh, wholesome and healthier food options that are also sustainable. By sourcing only locally grown produce, he aims to act responsibly towards the planet and its natural resources and reduce Kunjani’s carbon footprint. As a result, he only sources fish from the green list of South African Sustainable Seafood Initiative (SASSI) and fresh vegetables from the restaurant’s own vegetable garden.
Situated a mere 30 minutes from Cape Town and just outside the beautiful town of Stellenbosch on the Bottelary Hills road, Kunjani is perfectly position for a quick getaway or even an overnight stay in one of their luxuriously appointed self-catering villas. Whether you want to host a birthday party, year-end function, anniversary, product launch, corporate workshop or bridal shower, Kunjani has a great selection of options to cater for your individual needs.
The venue has a seating capacity of 60 for sit-down functions or 80 for more informal cocktail functions. Day functions can be hosted outside on the shaded verandah while sipping on a glass of estate wine and soaking up the breath-taking views of the Bottelary Hills. With its eclectic and modern designs, our venue is perfect for evening functions. Smaller business meetings and lunches can be hosted in the exclusive and private wine cellar.
Guests can choose from a selection of two, three and four course lunch or dinner menus or a buffet with a variety of food options. For a more formal event, gourmet food and wine pairing menus are available. Birthday breakfasts and champagne brunches are hugely popular during the summer months when guests can enjoy the magnificent views and warmer weather. For a more relaxed function, cocktails and canapés are on offer. Whatever the requirements, menus are constructed based on clients’ needs.
For smaller groups who would like to enjoy a weekend getaway, the Kunjani self-catering cottages offer breath-taking accommodation in a working wine farm environment.
