ⓘ About Stef's Table
‘House’- restaurants are often short lived, but Stef’s Table has been around for more than eight years, and is a respected establishment not only in the community, but by other restaurateurs. It is homely, but that is part of the charm.
The menu is carefully compiled to offer varied options – think garlic snails in brandy butter with bacon croutons or Spanish-style prawn tails with ginger and cumin as starters. The double-baked brie and mustard soufflé is simply delicious. Mains include lamb curry, oxtail, sea bass with capers and fennel butter, Malayan lamb shank with cured lamb and naartjie, and for dessert, baked fondant or crème brulée.
They present many food and wine pairing dinners where chef Stefan gets to prepare dishes that might not always work on an à la carte menu – spiced quail or a lamb neck pomegranate braisage, for example.
