About
If you are a thrill seeker looking for the adrenaline-rush of a lifetime, the Wild Gorge Swing in Oribi Gorge will offer you guaranteed over-the-edge excitement! Give in to gravity by hurling yourself off the edge of Lehr’s Falls in what must be the most adrenaline-inducing ride of your life! Rated as the world’s highest gorge swing, this activity means stepping (or diving) off the edge of the waterfall and plummeting into the 55-storey deep gorge. The free-fall is awesome and will have you accelerating up to the astounding speed of 120km/hours in 2.5 seconds.
Wild 5 Adventures is situated on the Oribi Gorge Hotel property, 1 ½ hours’ drive from King Shaka International, on the South Coast of KZN. Set amidst world-renowned view sites, Wild 5 Adventures offers a range of extreme (and milder) adventures in a setting of phenomenal natural beauty. These include a 110m abseil, foefie-slide, 85m suspension bridge, white water rafting on the Umzimkhulu, paintball, teambuilding and guided trails (hiking & birding). The fresh air does wonders for the appetite, so why not round off the perfect day by settling down for a bite to eat at the Oribi Gorge Hotel’s Wild Fig Café.
Wild 5 Adventures
Wild Gorge Swing in Oribi Gorge. Experience the Ultimate Rush! Situated at the top of Lehr’s Waterfall in Oribi Gorge, this is the highest swing of its kind in the world.
The Wild Gorge swing is an unbelievable experience that leaves you breathless yet exhilarated. Hurl yourself (or simply step) off the edge of the waterfall to swing into the gaping depths of Oribi Gorge – 165m (55 Storeys). Unlike a bungee, where you are strapped by the ankles, you experience the swing securely and comfortably fastened in a full body harness.
Wild Abseil… Learn the ropes! Abseil down a 110m Cliff face, alongside Lehr’s waterfall, and experience a new dimension in sightseeing!
Determine your own pace, and lavish the thrill of one of the world’s highest commercial abseils. The first 45m is a cliff abseil where one traditionally abseils with their feet against the cliff, while the remaining 65m is a free abseil allowing one to take in the beauty of the gorge from a different angle.
Beginners are welcome to abseil and will be given full instruction on the techniques. Only when they have satisfied certain requirements will they be lowered over the edge of the 170m waterfall.
Qualified trainers are on hand to show one the ropes, so to speak.
Zip-line Oribi Gorge. For those lacking the inclination to do the jump, the slide is just for you… Experience solitary bliss! Slide along the cable that spans across Oribi Gorge, 165m above the treetops. Strapped securely in a full body harness, you can lavish the view without compromising your comfort…
Enjoy a bird’s eye views of Lehr’s Waterfall and Baboon’s Castle!
Suspension Bridge (84 Meters) – A spectacular opportunity to be suspended between heaven and terra firma, as you hover 100m above the Gorge floor enjoying views never before seen of Lehr’s Waterfall, Baboon’s Castle and the World’s Highest Gorge Swing.

Paintball Games
These range from the well-known games such as Capture the Flag and Hostage Rescue to custom-made games, designed to deliver the greatest return on your specific teambuilding objectives.
Capture the Flag
- Each team has flag in their base camp (on either side of the arena). Both teams have to advance into each other’s territory, attempting to capture the opposing team’s flag. Once this has been done the team must safely retreat back to their base camp. Teams must remember to protect their own base camps at the same time, so tactical strategy is required!
Hostage Rescue
- The bad guys have captured innocent people and taken them hostage. After strategizing their manoeuvre the good guys are sent in to retrieve the hostages without casualties.
What to expect?
On arrival at Oribi Gorge Hotel you will be met by your facilitator and referee. If you have requested refreshments you will have a chance to mingle over coffee and a snack. After a safety briefing you will be given your equipment and guided to the paintball arenas for orientation. You will receive thorough instruction on how to use the equipment. As an Ice Breaker you will be given the opportunity to try out the equipment during some fun target shooting. Then it’s game-on!
Does it hurt?
If you are concerned about choosing paintball as a teambuilding activity, don’t be. It’s not pleasant being hit, but the impact will hurt less than the reality that you have been hit and are now “out” of the game until the next round. The anticipation and fear only adds to the excitement of the game. Protective coveralls and head gear is provided, but you can wear as much padding as you like underneath…
